He was predeceased by: his parents, Richard Smith and Patricia Smith; his sister Judy Roberts; and his nephew Christopher Roberts. He is survived by: his wife Mary Smith (Mulinix); his children, Tawnya (Chris Dawson) and Herschel (Steffenie Edwards); his grandchildren, McKaylee Rosedland (Blake), Abby Dawson, Tatum Nicholson, Ethan Edwards, Madison Edwards, Rylee Roberts, Hendrix Edwards, Charles Edwards and Lennon Edwards; his great grandchildren, Porter Roseland and Sutton Samardzic; and his siblings, Steve Smith (Lourdes), Mike Smith, Craig Smith (JoAnn), Mark Smith (Sue) and Tami Bird (Tony). He is also survived by many nieces and nephews.
Visitation will be held on Wednesday, October 29th 2025 from 10:00 AM to 12:00 PM at the Hagarty-Waychoff-Grarup Funeral Service West Ridgeway (300 West Ridgeway Ave., Waterloo, IA 50701). A memorial service will be held on Wednesday, October 29th 2025 at 12:00 PM at the same location.
