She was predeceased by : her parents, Carl Schick and Erna Schick; her siblings, Earl, Richard, John Schick, Darlene Schick Harting and Pearl Heikens; her siblings-in-law, Larry Newton, Harlan Heikens and Joanne Schick; her nieces and nephews, Richard Harting, Lester Harting, Steven Schick, Suzanne Harting and Roxanne Harting Jones; her great-nieces, Amber, Amanda Jones and Jennifer Harting; and her great-nephew Justin Harting.

She is survived by : her siblings, Robert Schick of Stevens Point, Carl Schick (Peg) of Reinbeck, Henry Schick of Morrison, Joan Fogt (Jack) of Reinbeck, Jean Newton of State Center and Lavonne Hougen of Grundy Center, Iowa; and her sister-in-law Mary Schick of Reinbeck. She is also survived by many nieces; nephews; grand-nieces; and grand-nephews.

“Lois was more an amazing woman, nurse, leader, advocate--she was a friend to all who met her, heard her teach, received her nursing care, and were blessed with her fun, creative, inspirational ways! Her heart was amazing--embracing all that life offers and wanting others to be able to do the same. She leaves a legacy that reaches across the country and the world. I am glad that she is free of this "physical straitjacket" and know she is with our Lord. I love and miss her~~”
