It is with deep sorrow that we announce the death of Sammy Joe Stephens of Hamburg, Iowa, who passed away on April 9, 2024, at the age of 70, leaving to mourn family and friends. You can send your sympathy in the guestbook provided and share it with the family.

He was predeceased by : his parents, Sam Vincent and Audry Mae Stephens (Light); and his siblings, Joby Stephens, Wanda Kay Holmes, Sandra Summers, Butch Stephens and Spike Stephens.

He is survived by : his girlfriend Nancy Stephens; his children, Toni Bruce of Hamburg, IA, Tanya Chesnut (Kevin Andrews) of Leon, IA, Cody Stephens (Erica) of Hamburg, IA and Tara Stephens of Arkansas; his grandchildren, Robby, Koby, Payton, Treyton, Maci, Evan, Willa, Lane, Walker, Cooper and Case; his great grandchildren, Stetson and Camryn; his brother-in-law George Summers of Denver, CO; and his nephew Willie Holmes of Rock Port, MO. He is also survived by other nieces, nephews and family and friends.

Visitation was held on Wednesday, April 17th 2024 from 5:00 PM to 7:00 PM at the Rash-Gude Funeral Home (1220 Main St, Hamburg, IA 51640). A graveside service was held on Thursday, April 18th 2024 at 10:00 AM at the Mt. Olive Cemetery (315 Ave, Iowa 51640).

Memorials may be given to the family for future designation.
