He was predeceased by : his parents, Herman Heitland and Catherine Heitland (Janssen); his wife Ann Heitland (Pendergraft); and his siblings, George Heitland, Clarence Heitland, John Heitland and Lorraine Rust.

He is survived by : his daughters, Teresa Heitland (Bryce Feldhoff) of Ames, IA and Laurie Huen (Tod) of Claremore, OK; his grandchildren, Heather Robinett (Robert), Harley Coyne (Audrey), Isaac Feldhoff and Lane Huen; his great grandchildren, Carter Robinett and Cooper Robinett; and his nephews, Mike Heitland (Jan) and Kevin Rust (Jerre). He is also survived by many other nieces and nephews.

Visitation was held on Friday, April 26th 2024 from 10:00 AM to 11:00 AM at 17 2nd St NE, Hampton, IA 50441. A funeral service was held on Friday, April 26th 2024 at 11:00 AM at the same location.
