He was predeceased by: his parents, Richard Dalbey and Dorothy Dalbey (Lewis); his wife Margaret Anne Barr; his sister Patricia Dalbey Jorgenson; his brother-in-law Merton Barr; and his son-in-law Cole Findlay.

He is survived by: his daughters, Rebecca McNabb (Mike) of Omaha, Arkansas and Sara Findlay (late Cole) of Panama, Iowa; his grandchildren, James Shields (Kaila) of Harlan, Katharyn McNabb of Houston, Texas and Amanda Erwin (Marcus) of Harlan; his great grandchildren, Camden Michael Shields of Harlan, Madden James Rooney of Harlan and Kennedy Cole Erwin of Harlan; his sister Barbara Walker (Norman) of Mesa, Arizona; and his siblings-in-law, Earl Jorgenson of Mead, Colorado and Louise Barr. He is also survived by nieces and nephews; other family members and friends.
