The memory of Shirley Ann Nelson of Harlan, Iowa, born in Audubon, Iowa, who passed away on October 22, 2025 at the age of 87, will forever remain in the hearts of those touched by this precious presence in their lives. She was predeceased by: her parent Shirley Nelson; and her sister Irene Larsen. She is survived by: her son Bruce Anthony (Patty) of Atlantic, Iowa; her husband Martin Nelson of Elk Horn, Iowa; her children, Dean Nelson (Kathy) of Atlantic, Iowa and Brenda Nelson (Tony Hough) of Elk Horn, Iowa; her grandchildren, Stacey Platt, Misty Nelson, Casey Martin, Michael Nelson, Cammi Nelson and Dylan Nelson; her sister Harriet Campbell (Danish) of Exira, Iowa; and her granddaughter Johanne Lyager. She is also survived by 9 great grandchildren, other family members and friends.
Visitation was held on Sunday, October 26th 2025 from 5:00 PM to 7:00 PM. A funeral service was held on Monday, October 27th 2025 at 2:00 PM. A burial was held on Monday, October 27th 2025 from 3:00 PM to 4:00 PM.
She also spent time working for Salem Lutheran Home as a nurse's aid and in the Alzheimer's unit.
