Wilbur touched many lives and will be remembered fondly for the moments shared and the memories created. Family, friends, and colleagues extend their love and support during this time. He was predeceased by: his parents, James Merit and Lora Estella Pattison (Rice); and his son Tom. He is survived by: his wife Ruthe Hetzler of Luke's Lutheran; his son Brad (Lisa Pattison) of Doniphan, NE; his granddaughters, Megan Pattison of Grand Island and Dr. Courtney (Johnny Venegas) of Omaha, NE; and his great grandchildren, Eden Yovo and Emma Venegas. He is also survived by other relatives and many friends.
A celebration of life will be held on Monday, October 12th 2026 at 11:00 AM at the Immanuel Lutheran Church (1700 19th St, Harlan, IA 51537).
Memorials are suggested in Pat's name to the Alzheimer's Association or American Cancer Society.
