He is survived by: his wife Marianne Beil; his children, Martina Jahn (Greg) of Omaha, NE, Susanna Schweikert of Omaha, NE, Duane Young of Spencer, IA and Robert Young (Missy) of Hartley, IA; his grandchildren, John Freese (Joy), Brigitte Freese, Christopher Jahn (Sam), Tiffany Jahn (Buddy), Amber Berry (Jeremy), Daniel Hopper (Caitlyn), Deanna Cramm (Curtis), Joseph, Lyse Hopper (Trish), Shyanne Zandstra, Tanner Young and Devin Young (Katelyn); his brother Darrel Young of Primghar, IA; his sister-in-law Diane Young of Battle Creek, IA; his cousin Ardith Nelson of Swanville, MN; and his pet Lilly. He is also survived by 26 great grandchildren and 2 great-great grandchildren.
Visitation will be held on Wednesday, September 30th 2026 from 10:00 AM to 11:00 AM at the Christensen-Van Houten Funeral Home (321 2nd St, Ida Grove, IA 51445). A funeral service will be held on Wednesday, September 30th 2026 at 11:00 AM at the same location.
