He was predeceased by: his parents, Lawrence Michels and Anna Michels (Patterson); his stepdaughter Dorothy Nichols; and his brother William Michels. He is survived by: his wife Denice Nichols (Wait) of Hazleton; his children, Lee Michels (Jovanna) of Waconia, Michelle Macabe (Bob Houghtling) of Bozeman, Troy Michels of Mankato, Tracy Michels (Karen) of Loudon and Darci Michels (James Rieff) of Mankato; his stepchildren, Dian Nichols of Independence, Dawn Lamphere (Tom) of Fayette and Matthew Nichols (Amy Loeffeholz) of Independence; and his sister Mary Anne Nielson (Fred) of Hazleton. He is also survived by 14 grandchildren; 6 great grandchildren.
