With sadness, we share the passing of Richard Tournier of Hazleton, Iowa. Richard, born on September 10, 1977, passed away on October 10, 2026. Leave a sympathy message to the family on the memorial page of Richard Tournier to pay them a last tribute.
He was predeceased by: his grandparents, Herbert Kern, Bernice Lehmkuhl, Howard and Charlotte Tournier; and his father-in-law Jerry Weekley.
He is survived by: his parents, Richard Tournier and Karla Tournier (Kern) of Independence; his wife Carrie Tournier of Hazleton; his sons, Richard Tournier, III (Hanna) of Oelwein and Brandon Tournier of Hazleton; his siblings, Dale Tournier of Clarinda, Dean Tournier (Angie) of Stanley, Deanna Wenner (Jeff) of Oelwein and Dawn Schafer (Troy) of Independence; and his mother-in-law Julia Weekley of Waterloo. He is also survived by Many Aunts, Uncles, Nieces, Nephews, Cousins and very close friends.
Visitation will be held on Thursday, October 15th 2026 from 4:00 PM to 7:00 PM and on Friday, October 16th 2026 at 9:30 AM at the Schmitz Funeral Home (1069 Jackson Ave, Hazleton, IA 50641). A funeral service will be held on Friday, October 16th 2026 at 10:30 AM at the same location.
Memorials may be directed to the family for later designation.
