It is with great sadness that we announce the death of Avon Gardner of Hedrick, Iowa, who passed away on September 23, 2025, at the age of 93, leaving to mourn family and friends. Family and friends are welcome to leave their condolences on this memorial page and share them with the family.

He was predeceased by: his parents, William Gardner and Erma Gardner (Hix); his daughter Angela Gardner; and his brother Dale Gardner. He is survived by: his wife Darlene Lasley of Hedrick; his children, Douglas Gardner (Tammy) of Marion and Janine Smith (Joe) of Des Moines; his grandchildren, David Gardner (Sarah), Gwen Harms (Dylan), Adam Smith and Reece; and his great grandchildren, Sonja, Otto Gardner and Miles Harms.

A memorial fund has been established for Prairie View Church or Essence of Life Hospice.
