He was predeceased by: his grandson Jacob Winders; his brother Ron; and his parents, Myrle Winders and Helen Winders. He is survived by: his wife Beth; his children, Debbie Settlage (Bill) of Cedar Rapids and Rod (Jill) of Solon; his grandchildren, Allison Bouzek (Drake), Stephen Settlage (Brittney), Brianne Hellman (Jon), Morgan Meade (Marshall), Emma Winders (Tyler), Maggie Winders (Cade) and Cole Winders; his great grandchildren, Isabel, Raelyn Bouzek, Beckham, Liam Settlage and Lily Hellman; and his siblings-in-law, Barbara Reynolds, Nancy Deklotz, Becky Barr and Bill Rinderknecht.
Visitation will be held on Monday, September 28th 2026 from 9:00 AM to 11:00 AM at the Concordia Lutheran Church (4210 Johnson Ave NW, Cedar Rapids, IA 52405). A memorial service will be held on Monday, September 28th 2026 at 11:00 AM at the same location.
In lieu of flowers, memorials may be directed to Concordia Lutheran Church, The Hospice of Mercy, or the Alzheimer's Association.
