He was predeceased by: his parents, Harvey Droegmiller and Erma Droegmiller (Sorensen) of Holstein, Iowa.; his grandson Jonathan Pickhinke; his cousins, Dennis, Diane Sorensen and Curtis Sorensen of Holstein; and his father-in-law Marvin Volkert.

He is survived by: his wife Diane Volkert of Correctionville; his daughters, Denise Pickhinke (Lynn) of Nemaha and Shelly Spotts (Jeff) of Ida Grove; his grandchildren, Elizabeth Kliegl (Jacob) of Nemaha, Katie Pickhinke of Nemaha, Kyle, Kade and Kolt Spotts of Ida Grove; his great grandchildren, Jonathan, Cecilia and Margaret Kliegl of Nemaha; his siblings, Veryl Droegmiller (Donna) of Holstein and Janet Lohafer (TIm) of Le Mars, Iowa; and his mother-in-law Alice Volkert of Correctionville. He is also survived by numerous inlaws, nieces, nephews, and friends.

Visitation was held on Thursday, August 27th 2026 from 5:00 PM to 7:30 PM at the Nicklas D. Jensen Funeral Home (1600 S Kiel St, Holstein, IA 51025). A prayer was held on Thursday, August 27th 2026 from 7:30 PM to 8:30 PM at the same location. A funeral service was held on Friday, August 28th 2026 at 10:30 AM at the St. Paul Evangelical Lutheran Church (304 E 2nd St, Holstein, IA 51025).
