We are sad to announce that on October 18, 2022, at the age of 79, Gary Schaapveld of Homestead, Iowa passed away. Leave a sympathy message to the family on the memorial page of Gary Schaapveld to pay them a last tribute.

He was predeceased by: his parents, Harold Schaapveld and Wilma Schaapveld (Maher); his stepfather Ed Nelson; and his brothers, Daniel Schaapveld and Les Schaapveld.

He is survived by: his wife Helen Schaapveld of Homestead; his son Eric Schaapveld of Cedar Rapids; his brothers, Warren Schaapveld (Ann) of Iowa City and Lonny Schaapveld (Nancy) of West Liberty; and his sisters-in-law, Karen Schaapveld of North Liberty and Joyce Schaapveld of Lone Tree. He is also survived by four grandchildren.

In lieu of flowers, memorials may be directed to the family in memory of Gary.
