It is with great sadness that we announce the death of David Lee Larson of Hubbard, Iowa, born in Eldora, Iowa, who passed away on September 23, 2023, at the age of 93, leaving to mourn family and friends. He was predeceased by : his parents, Ira Edward and Clara Judith Larson (Teig); his wife Elaine Larson; his siblings, Carl Larson, Ed Larson and Sana Zierke; his sister-in-law Harriet Tresemer (Carl Larson); his parents-in-law, Ernest and Alfield Fichtner; his stepmother-in-law Elizabeth Fichtner; his sister-in-law Audrey Steelman (Patsy King); and his close friend Jack Huston.
He is survived by : his children, Teresa Haarhues (Michael) of Winterset, IA and Kim Larson (Cathy) of Hubbard, IA; his grandchildren, Kendra Elliott (Seth) of Bondurant, IA, Hannah Casey (Adam) of Council Bluffs, IA, Kami Covarrubias (Eduardo) of Urbandale, IA, Colemann Haarhues (Bobbi) of Pawnee City, NE and Sophie Bumann (Chris) of Grand Mound, IA; his stepgrandchildren, Stephanie Brecht (Philip) of Robins, IA and Jeremy Barkema of Hubbard, IA; his great grandchildren, Myah, Mason Elliott, Oliver, Evelyn Casey, Hayden, Adalynn, Bryant Haarhues, Merrick Bumann, Maverick and Hendrix Brecht; his sister Sallie Harestad (Robert) of Roland, IA; and his siblings-in-law, Shirley Larson of Blacksburg, VA, Arlen "Gus" "Doc" Zierke (Kay) of Hubbard, IA, Gene Steelman of Gifford, IA, Rodney Fichtner (Carolyn) of Webster City, IA and Royce Fichtner (Edie) of Ankeny, IA. He is also survived by many extended family and friends.
