Betty Lou Hoiland Obituary
It is with great sadness that we announce the death of Betty Lou Hoiland of Hull, Iowa, who passed away on August 6, 2025, at the age of 90, leaving to mourn family and friends. Family and friends are welcome to send flowers or leave their condolences on this memorial page and share them with the family.
In the vast expanse of eternity, Betty Lou shall find rest, cradled in the arms of everlasting peace. And as we bid Betty Lou farewell, her loved ones carry with them the precious gift of her memory, a beacon of hope guiding them through the shadows of sorrow towards the light of a new dawn.
She was predeceased by: her parents, Everett Groninga and Margaret Groninga (Fountain); her husband John Hoiland; her granddaughter Melissa Prestin; her siblings, Delbert Groninga, Ken Groninga and Shirley Long; and her daughters-in-law, Mary Prestin and Tammy Prestin.
She is survived by: her sons, Jim Prestin (Linda) of Sioux Falls, SD, Jerry Prestin of Lakefield, MN and Jon Prestin of Ledyard, IA; and her sister Bernice Johnke of St. Paul, MN. She is also survived by 4 grandchildren; 7 great-grandchildren; 1 great-great grandchild; and several nieces and nephews.
A celebration of life was held on Monday, August 11th 2025 from 1:00 PM to 2:00 PM at the George Boom Funeral Home (3408 E 10th St, Sioux Falls, SD 57103).
