He was predeceased by: his parents, Gerrit E. Horstman and Angeline Horstman (Hofland); his wife Florence Elaine Van Maanen; his brothers, Marion Horstman (Agnes), Gerald Horstman (Evie), Irv Horstman and Keith Horstman; his siblings-in-law, Ed Visser, June Horstman and Joan Horstman; Bert and Bernice Van Maanen.
He is survived by: his son Curtis (Robbyn Horstman) of West Plains; his grandchildren, Abbigail (Dakota), Sara and Benjamin; his children, Candace and Scott Van Egdom of Sioux Falls; his grandchildren, Keegan (Kaylee), Kylee (Jacob), Katie and Kade; his child Ryan Mulder of Sioux Falls; his grandchildren, Dawson (Kaylee), Gavin (Cassie), Britton and Rowan; his children, Cody, Carmen Horstman of Mesa and Arizona; his grandchildren, Treyten, Hunter, Emiah, Brysen and Ainsley; his siblings, Gene Horstman, Del Horstman (Marla), Virg Horstman, Nels Horstman (Gloria), Bob Horstman (Glenda) and Gertie Visser; his sister-in-law Ann Horstman; and his siblings, Marjean, Brenda (Alvin Bylsma), Alvina (Marlyn Hofman), Carol (Marv Anema), Jan (Wayne Vander Maten) and Evert (Kathy Van Maanen). He is also survived by numerous nieces and nephews.
Visitation was held on Monday, August 31st 2026 from 5:00 PM to 7:00 PM at the Oolman Funeral Home - Hull (319 Black Forest Rd, Hull, IA 51239). A prayer was held on Tuesday, September 1st 2026 at 10:00 AM at the same location. A memorial service was held on Tuesday, September 1st 2026 at 11:00 AM at the First Christian Reformed Church - Hull (1121 5th St, Hull, IA 51239). A burial was held on Tuesday, September 1st 2026 at the Hope Cemetery (206 5th St, Hull, IA 51239).
Memorials will be given to the Hull Christian School and Western Christian High School.
