He is survived by: his daughters, Janelle Ekeler (James) of Lincoln, NE, Michelle Pergande (Lewis) of Jewell, Renee Madison of Lincoln, NE, Kerrie Woodley (Rick) of Laurens and Stephanie Sisson of Humboldt; and his sisters, Marian Freeman of Plattsburg, MO and Donnarae Cranston of Grundy Center. He is also survived by 9 grandchildren; 16 great grandchildren.
A rosary was held on Friday, October 2nd 2026 at 4:30 PM at the Foust Funeral Home (1115 SW 2nd St, Eagle Grove, IA 50533). Visitation was held on Friday, October 2nd 2026 from 5:00 PM to 7:00 PM at the same location. A funeral Mass was held on Saturday, October 3rd 2026 at 10:30 AM at the Sacred Heart Catholic Church (204 S Jackson Ave, Eagle Grove, IA 50533).
True to his nature, Fred didn't just make a donation and walk away; he helped fill an Umthun semi with supplies and coordinated the drivers to make the trip.
