He was predeceased by : his parents, Alvae Coon and Madelia Coon (Goings); and his brother Bill Coon. He is survived by : his wife Janet Kent; his children, Mike Coon (Nancy) of Kansas City and Susan Short (Rob) of Ankeny; his grandchildren, Amanda Van Dorn (Dustin Boots), Amanda Campbell (Justin), Michael Hubbard (Kim), David Van Dorn, Brittany Singleton, Melissa Chavez (Walter), Christeen Coon (Dan Rotert) and Malinda Sharp; his children, Jami Van Dorn, Kameron Holcomb, Jacoby Violett, David Alvae Sharp, Alayna Sharp, Carter Boots, Raúl Chavez, Reina Chavez, Jamien Hubbard, Jolene Holcomb, Arlo Hubbard, Lane Holcomb and Luca Hubbard; and his brother Robert Coon (Donna).
