He was predeceased by: his parents, Merle Kron and Mildred Kron (Ingram); his daughter Amy Burcham (Preston); his grandchildren, Rebecca Cedeno, Joseph Christopher Landon and Joseph Hopkins; his great grandchild Addyson Grace Hicks; and his siblings, Anna Marie Flint (Louis), Leo Kron, Reva Jean Baxter (Kenneth), Phyllis Stevens (Leo), Edna Louise Lenning, Betty Lou Gallup (Paul) and Merle "Butch" Kron.

He is survived by: his children, Jenniffer Hopkins (Shannon) of Ida Grove, Susan Henkelman (Bill) of Dunlap and Gary Kron, Jr. (Tara) of Schaller, Iowa; his grandchildren, Emily Goodpasture, Kelsie Galbraith (Nick), Melissa Cedeno (Logan), Destiny Nelson (Zane), Jaxon Hopkins, Cassandra Tillman (Matt), Tobi Shade (Spencer), Cheyenne Putzier (Zack), Ryan Kron, Lacey Kron, Brittany Tisdale (Shane), Michael Bendixen, Samantha Salmon (Isaiah), Michaela Barker (Jeremy), Veronica Taylor (Brett), Danielle Kron and Alexandria Kron; his brother Mike Kron (Barb) of Sioux City, Iowa; and his former wife Dorothy Schoba (Rath). He is also survived by many nieces, nephews, cousins, other relatives, and friends.
