He was predeceased by : his parents, James Edward Kortenkamp, Sr. and Mary Jo Kortenkamp (Sheeley). He is survived by : his sons, Joe Kortenkamp (Rozalynn) of Monticello, IA and Jeff Kortenkamp (Rebecca) of Cedar Rapids, IA; his stepchildren, Shane Beatty (Molly) of Independence, IA and Rachelle Lynch (David) of Independence, IA; his grandchildren, Izah, Sterling, Jordan, Jonnae, Jackson, Kaitlyn and Alli; his great grandchild Nara; his brothers, James Kortenkamp, Jr. (Bobbi) of Colona, IL and Jeffrey Kortenkamp (Teri) of Third Lake, IL; and his close friend Diane Beatty of Independence, IA. He is also survived by many nieces and nephews.

Visitation was held on Wednesday, April 17th 2024 from 4:00 PM to 8:00 PM at the White Funeral Home (400 1st St W, Independence, IA 50644). A vigil service was held on Wednesday, April 17th 2024 at 7:30 PM at the same location. A funeral service was held on Thursday, April 18th 2024 at 10:30 AM at the same location.

Memorials will be directed to the Buchanan County Wildlife Association.
