She was predeceased by : her parents, George John Klotzbach and Eva May Klotzbach (Stumma); her son John A. Risk; her granddaughter Mary Elizabeth Risk; and her brother William G. Klotzbach.

She is survived by : her former life partner Donald Louis Risk; her children, William Risk (Vicky) of Tempe, AZ and Janet Kohlmeyer (Mark) of Guttenberg, IA; her grandchildren, Heather Risk (Risë Pavey), Alexander Risk (Lindsay), Louis Risk (Katya), Joseph Risk, Kaitlyn Walker, Michelle Conover (Zach), Carson Kohlmeyer and Bethany Kohlmeyer; her great grandchildren, Gabriella, Grace, Raquel, Leon, Milo, Olivia and Mcoy; her sister-in-law Mary A. Klotzbach of Independence; and her daughter-in-law Diana Risk. She is also survived by many nieces and nephews.

“Katie was my mom’s friend from high school. She was Mom’s maid of honor and she and Stormy were my godparents. I was named after her. She and Stormy always remembered my birthday and would deposit $3 in a savings account on my birthday. When I got married, I used it to buy a sewing machine which is still being used 50 years later! I am so sorry for your loss. She was a lovely person and I will always remember her fondly. Katharine Johnson Pease”
