With profound sadness, we say goodbye to Larry Bathen of Independence, Iowa, whose vibrant spirit touched the lives of many. Larry left this world on December 30, 2025 at the age of 84, leaving a void in the lives of so many people. He was predeceased by: his parents, Otto Bathen and Ruth Bathen (Applegrath). He is survived by: his wife Helen Bathen; his children, Larry Edwin Bathen, Laura Ann Mumaw (Lance Eric), Lisa Ruth Shelton-Bathen and Lonny Otto Bathen; and his siblings, Lloyd Bathen, Velda Mentzer, Marie McFarland and Debbie Jungling. He is also survived by nine grandchildren; seven great-grandchildren.
