It is with great sadness that we announce the death of LaVonne Thompson of Independence, Iowa, who passed away on April 23, 2024, leaving to mourn family and friends. Leave a sympathy message to the family on the memorial page of LaVonne Thompson to pay them a last tribute.

She was predeceased by : her parents, Gerald Luther Thompson and Hazel Mae Thompson (Smith). She is survived by : her children, Kelly Petrillo of Independence, Shaun Kennett (Lia) of Truckee, CA and Sonya Kennett-Bethune (Benjamin) of Jesup, IA; her grandchildren, Alasa Stoinich, Amanda Stoinich, Grace Petrillo, Zachary Kennett, Trevor Kennett, Ross Bethune and Violet Bethune; her great grandchildren, Avah Wilder and Aurora Kite; and her brother Allen Thompson (Janis) of Independence, IA.

A memorial service was held on Friday, April 26th 2024 at 11:00 AM at the Zion Lutheran Church – Jubilee (12007 Jubilee Rd, La Porte City, IA 50651).
