He was predeceased by: his parents, Lenn S. Hayward and Margaret Inez Hayward (Ocker); his wife Joann Ester Marsh; and his siblings, Phyllis Fuller, Jim Hayward and Dale "Shorty" Hayward.
He is survived by: his children, Lorrie Rasmussen (Michael) of Rowley, Iowa, Dirk Hayward (Diane) of Floral City and Brock Hayward (Sam) of Hernando, Florida. He is also survived by six grandchildren, 13 great grandchildren; and many nieces and nephews.
