It is with sadness that the passing of Mary Johnson of Independence, Iowa is shared. Mary passed away on September 14, 2026. Family and friends are welcome to leave their condolences on this memorial page and share them with the family.
She was predeceased by: her parents, Richard William "Dick" Forsythe and Freda Fern Pint Forsythe (Quinn); her siblings, Doris Rodgers (Francis), Phyllis Postel, Beulah Skripsky (Edwin) and Donald "Dutch" Forsythe (Edith); and her siblings-in-law, Sue Forsythe and Don Roe.
She is survived by: her husband Danny Johnson of Independence; her children, Danny Johnson (Sue) of Independence, Tonia Thurm of Denver and Steven Johnson (Adrianne Thome) of Independence; her grandchildren, Mitch, Luke, Miranda, Mylee, Tanyr, Evelyn and Steven; her great grandchild Blakelyne; and her siblings, Barbara "Bobbie" Roe of Waterloo, Dorothy Clinton of Cedar Rapids, Harold Forsythe of Augusta and Bob Pint (Barbara) of Wichita, Kansas. She is also survived by many nieces and nephews.
Visitation was held on Thursday, September 17th 2026 from 4:00 PM to 7:00 PM at the White Funeral Home (400 1st St W, Independence, IA 50644). A funeral service will be held on Friday, September 18th 2026 at 10:30 AM at the same location.
Memorials will be directed to the family to be used for organizations important to Kathy, including the Cedar Valley Hospice.
