He was predeceased by: his parents, Lorraine Howard Hertzberg and Martha Amanda Hertzberg (Weidemann); his brother Howard Hertzberg (Pauline); and his brother-in-law Lorni Wessels. He is survived by: his wife Marilyn Hertzberg of Independence; his children, Laurie Erdman (Scott) of Cedar Rapids, Iowa and Robert Hertzberg, Jr. (Susan) of Urbandale, Iowa; his grandchildren, Quintin Erdman (Jodie), Nicholas Erdman (April), Jessica Torre (Richard) and Elizabeth Hertzberg; his great grandchildren, Ryker, Kira, Barrett, Holly, Jaxson and Grayson; and his sister LaVelle Wessels of Swisher, Iowa. He is also survived by many nieces and nephews.
