He was predeceased by : his parents, August Preuss and Charlotte Preuss (Hayes); his son Todd Preuss; his grandson Ryan Johnson; his great grandchildren, Kale and Ray Johnson; his brother Lawrence Preuss; and his brothers-in-law, Don Shirmer and Ray Kerr.

He is survived by : his wife Beverlee B. Preuss (Falconer); his children, Leslie Johnson (Rick), Kathie Coonrad (George), Kim Cue (Jim), Shayne Preuss (Lisa), Hazelton and Jacque Adams (Mike); and his siblings, Betty Shirmer, Patti Kerr and Jim (Sharon Preuss). He is also survived by twelve grandchildren, twenty-eight great-grandchildren, two great-great-grandchildren.
