He is survived by: his wife Esther Smedley of Independence; his children, Robin Grover (James) of Rowley, Rachelle "Shelly" Quinn (John) of Lakewood Ranch, FL, Rodney Smedley (Toni) of Independence, William Skubal (Lisa) of Jesup, IA, Alesia Buckman (Shawn) of Woodward, IA, Nicole Ryan (Rob), Shanna Skubal of Camanche, IA and Christian Skubal of Independence; and his brother LaVern Smedley (Theresa) of Cedar Rapids, IA.. He is also survived by 20 grandchildren; 21 great grandchildren; several nieces, nephews.
