She was predeceased by: her parents, Warren Merle May and Christine Alice May (Stewart); her daughter-in-law Sandy Russell; and her stepgreat-granddaughter Lola. She is survived by: her husband Keith Melick of Independence; her children, Julie Russell-Steuart (David) of Reinbeck, IA and Brian Russell (Pamela Wright) of Essex, MD; her grandchildren, Venus Steuart and Darwin Russell; her siblings, Grace Kullmer of Jesup, William May (Mary) of Jesup, Robert May (Randi) of Jesup and Stewart May (Carma) of Jesup; her stepchildren, Dawn Zimmer of Phoenix, AZ and Chris Melick of Phoenix, AZ; her stepgrandchildren, Drew Zimmer and Nate Zimmer; and her stepgreat-granddaughter Sophie.
Memorials will be directed to the United Methodist Committee on Relief (UMCOR), which is a humanitarian organization that helps alleviate human suffering.
