It is with great sadness that we announce the death of Steven Craig Fowlkes of Independence, Iowa, who passed away on June 24, 2023, at the age of 62, leaving to mourn family and friends. Family and friends are welcome to leave their condolences on this memorial page and share them with the family.

He was predeceased by : his father Arthur Jr. "Skeeter" Fowlkes; his grandparents, Arthur Sr., Charlotte Fowlkes, Alfred and Grace Williams; and his siblings-in-law, Jim Benson and Patsy Fowlkes.

He is survived by : his mother Rita Fowlkes (Williams); his siblings, Rhonda Benson of Nashville, TN, Arthur "Pork" Fowlkes III of Independence, IA, Russell (Connie), Bruce Fowlkes of Independence, IA, Joe Fowlkes (Melissa) of Independence, IA and Gina Rasmussen (Trevor Halverson) of Waterloo, IA; and his adoptive parent Thomas. He is also survived by many nieces and nephews.
