She was predeceased by: her husband Duane Robert Novak; her son James William Newton, Jr.; her granddaughter Monica Newton; her great grandchildren, Owen Hinz, Ryker Hart, Alex Chamberlin and Lucas Farmer; and her siblings, Donnie (Dorothy), Glen (Ginny), Ralph, Delbert (Joan), Wayne (JoAnne), Jesse, Howard (Norma), Raymond, Velma Mervin (Izzy), Florence Spece (Vernon) and Dorothy Olsen (Robert).
She is survived by: her former husband James William Newton; her children, Deborah Smith (George), Lynn Ries (Lyle), Alta Vista, Cheryl Wensel (Rick), Michael Newton (Pam), Carolyn Wright, Marion, David Newton, Annette Sauer (Ray), Denise Lehman (Doug), Wayne Novak (Susie), Andrew Newton (Tiffany), Kelly Newton (Lisa), Waverly, Dawn Phillips (Bill) and Becky Peterson (Tom); her sister Norma Lee Van Haften (Roger) of Chanhassen, MN; her siblings-in-law, John Novak (Lois), Pete Novak, Alyce Masters of Elkhorn, NE, Ruth Vaughn (Jerry) of Frankfort, KS and Wendy Pierson (Eugene) of Meriden, KS.; Dorothy Johnson (Alciede), Harold Novak (Ruth), Cleo Hendry (Don) and Betty Schumacher (Don). She is also survived by 38 grandchildren and their spouses, 76 Great-grandchildren and spouses, 16 Great-great grandchildren Dolores loved her grandchildren.
Memorials may be directed to Operation Santa Claus at Operation Threshold, Independence, the Independence Food Pantry or the Brandon Methodist Church.
