Richard Charles Runyan Obituary
With solemn hearts, we announce the passing of Richard Charles Runyan of Indianola, Iowa, whose presence will be deeply missed, having departed on January 23, 2026 at the age of 75. Family and friends are welcome to leave their condolences on this memorial page and share them with the family.
As Richard departs from our midst, his spirit ascends to join the cosmic dance of stars, a shimmering constellation of memories that will forever grace the night sky of the hearts of those who loved Richard. Though Richard may no longer walk beside us, his legacy lives on — a testament to the enduring power of love to transcend the boundaries of time and space.
He was predeceased by: his parents, Stanley G. Runyan and Maxine L. Runyan; and his grandparents, Charles, Inez Runyan, Clarence and Vera Herold.
He is survived by: his siblings, Karla Derrickson (Dennis), Jeff Runyan (Julie) and Joel Runyan. He is also survived by seven nieces and nephews; 15 great-nieces and great-nephews; four great-great-nieces and great-great-nephews; two granddaughters and many beloved cousins.
Memorials in memory of Richard may be given to Wesley Life Hospice or the American Kidney Fund.
