With solemn hearts, we announce the passing of Robert Dean McCauley of Indianola, Iowa, whose presence will be deeply missed, having departed on September 18, 2025 at the age of 87. Family and friends are welcome to leave their condolences on this memorial page and share them with the family.
He was predeceased by: his parents, Virgil McCauley and Mildred McCauley; his wife Dorothy; his daughter Vonna Brown; and his brothers, Larry and Ron McCauley.
He is survived by: his children, Victor McCauley (Vicky) and Verna McCauley; his son-in-law John Brown; his grandchildren, Sarah Hick (Sean), Cory McCauley (Megan), Aubry Baldwin (Brad), Amanda Montelongo (Erik), Crystal Herrington (Britt) and Andrew Bishop (Rachel); his great grandchildren, Levi, Hayley, Kinsey Hick, Clare, Owen, Madelyn McCauley, Gryffin and Margot Montelongo; and his sisters, Marilyn Fletchall and Carolyn Verde. He is also survived by many nieces, nephews and friends.
Visitation was held on Monday, September 22nd 2025 from 4:00 PM to 7:00 PM at the Overton Funeral Home (501 W Ashland Ave, Indianola, IA 50125). A graveside service was held on Tuesday, September 23rd 2025 at 10:00 AM at the Belmont Cemetery (14977 210th Ave, Milo, IA 50166).
In lieu of flowers, memorials in memory of Robert may be given to the Milo Christian Union Church.
