It is with great sadness that we announce the death of Dale Johnson of Iowa City, Iowa, who passed away on December 6, 2025, at the age of 91, leaving to mourn family and friends. Leave a sympathy message to the family on the memorial page of Dale Johnson to pay them a last tribute.
He was predeceased by: his parents, George Johnson and Alvina Emma Johnson (Lenz); and his siblings, Geraldine Watkinson and Ardell Johnson. He is survived by: his wife Ardath Elaine Hunter of Iowa City; his children, LeAnne Werner (Tim) of St. Louis, Brian Johnson (Peggy) of Iowa City, Lori Johnson of Iowa City and Linda Baylor (Dion) of Iowa City; his grandchildren, Kaily Hoard (Josh) of Hills, Spenser Johnson (Jordan) of Iowa City, Nick Werner of St. Louis, Alyssa Werner of St. Louis and Jaden Baylor of Iowa City; and his great grandchildren, Payton Johnson, Cyrus Hoard and Declan Johnson.
Visitation will be held on Tuesday, December 9th 2025 from 4:00 PM to 7:00 PM at the Snyder and Hollenbaugh Funeral and Cremation Services (100 Devoe St, Lone Tree, IA 52755). A funeral service will be held on Wednesday, December 10th 2025 at 10:00 AM at the United Presbyterian Church (110 W Elm St, Lone Tree, IA 52755).
In lieu of flowers, memorials may be directed to the Lone Tree Historical Society, Lone Tree United Presbyterian Church or Eastern Iowa Honor Flight in memory of Dale.
