She was predeceased by: her parents, Theodore Hamilton and Sarah Hamilton (Gilroy); and her siblings, Kim, Don (Evelyn) and Betty (Hugh).
She is survived by: her husband James "Jim" Smith; her son J. J. Smith (Julie); her grandchildren, Maycee, Sadie and McGavin of West Branch; and her son Kurt Smith (Kim Poulsen) of Iowa City. She is also survived by six grandchildren; and extended family.
