He was predeceased by: his parents, George W. Hicks and Dorothy H. Hicks (Routson); and his sister Norma Jean McKibben. He is survived by: his wife Phyllis A. Thomas; his children, George (Debbie), Bob (Phyllis) and Debbie Hicks Cook; his grandsons, Tyler (Ashley Hicks) and Brandon (Katelyn Hicks); and his great grandchild Oaklyn Hicks.
Visitation will be held on Sunday, December 14th 2025 from 1:00 PM to 3:00 PM at the Gay & Ciha Funeral and Cremation Service (2720 Muscatine Ave, Iowa City, IA 52240).
