With sadness, we share the passing of Wayne John Stepan (Iowa City, Iowa). Wayne, born on March 4, 1974 in Sumner, Iowa, passed away on June 8, 2026. Family and friends are welcome to leave their condolences on this memorial page and share them with the family.
He was predeceased by: his parents, Ed Stepan and Mary Ann Stepan; his brothers, Whitie, Bob, Ronnie and David; his sisters-in-law, Dee Stepan and Tammy Stepan; his nephew Whitie Jr.; his niece Emily; and his mother-in-law Jane O'Toole.
He is survived by: his wife Jeneane O'Toole Stepan of Jeneane's Dad; his children, Magdalen O'Toole Stepan and Jakob O'Toole Stepan of Iowa City; and his siblings, Randy Stepan (Marilyn) of West Union, IA, Blackie Stepan of Janesville, WI, Ray Stepan (Wanda) of El Dorado, IA, Ed Stepan of San Angelo, TX, Mark Stepan (Jenny) of West Union, Lanet Suhr (Keith), Christy Mitchell (Jamie Miller) of Federal Dam, MN, Ann Knutson (Justin) of Waterloo, IA and Carol Neilson (Jacob) of Altoona, IA. He is also survived by numerous nieces and nephews as well as great nieces and nephews.
In lieu of flowers, memorials may be made to the Bird House-Hospice House of Johnson County, Iowa City Hospice or to The University of Iowa Healthcare Supportive and Palliative Care Fund.
