He was predeceased by: his parents, Edward Chalupsky and Dolores Chalupsky (Horsch); and his siblings-in-law, Ed Johnson, Sherry Johnson and Linda Johnson.

He is survived by: his wife Joan Johnson; his children, Tim Chalupsky of Shueyville, Lori Chalupsky-Cannon (Markus) of Shueyville and Julie Swenka of Shueyville; his grandchildren, Rain Swenka, Sya, Anna Cannon, Caelen and Harper Lilly; his children, Lauren and Anna Netz; his mother-in-law Alice Johnson of Cedar Rapids; and his siblings-in-law, Kenny Johnson of Shueyville, Dan Johnson (Pat) of Shueyville, Don Johnson of Walford, Judy Nicholls (Jerry) of Solon and Becky Johnson of Cedar Rapids. He is also survived by many nieces and nephews.

In lieu of flowers memorials may be directed to the family.
