Jim Porter Obituary

With heavy hearts, we announce the death of Jim Porter of James, Iowa, who passed away on September 1, 2025 at the age of 90. Family and friends are welcome to leave their condolences on this memorial page and share them with the family.

He was predeceased by: his parents, Barlo Porter and Lydia Porter (Welty); his wife Angel Dishong; and his siblings, John Porter, Joe Porter, Jerry Porter, Betty Pemberton, Jenny Cook and Barb Harmon (Bill).

He is survived by: his children, Sherry Schmitt (Tim) and Larry (Jodi); his close friend Margie Barber; his grandchildren, Brandy Willett, Billy Holmberg (Adam), Donielle Larson (Mike), Crystal Sun (Ben), Kathy Porter and John Porter; his great grandchildren, Addison, Gavin Willett, Isabel, Mitchell Larson, Walter, Lydia and Miriam Holmberg; his brothers, Robert Porter (Sandra) and Danny; and his sister-in-law Sara Dishong. He is also survived by many nieces and nephews.
