She was predeceased by: her father Archie Thompson; her husband Jerry Cranston of John's Lutheran Church; her son Cecil Archie; her grandparents, Levi, Mamie Thompson, George and Francis Sprugel; her in-laws, Cecil Cranston and Floren Knox Cranston Shultz; her brother Dennis Thompson; her brother-in-law Jerry Kastengren; and her nephew Gregg Kastengren.

She is survived by: her mother Martha Sprugel Thompson.

Memorial contributions may be directed to Furry Friends Refuge and Urbandale Food Pantry in loving memory of Cookie.
