Melvin Browning Obituary
We bid farewell to Melvin Browning of Johnston, Iowa, whose journey of life gracefully concluded on May 5, 2026 at the age of 81. Melvin touched countless lives with warmth and kindness, leaving behind cherished memories that will forever echo in hearts. Family and friends are welcome to leave their condolences on this memorial page and share them with the family.
As Melvin departs from this earthly realm, his essence lingers — a whisper on the wind, a ripple on the water — a testament to the enduring power of love to transcend the boundaries of life and death. Though Melvin may no longer walk beside us, his spirit lives on in the memories and the legacy Melvin leaves behind.
He was predeceased by: his parents, William Browning and Doris Browning (Wilkerson). He is survived by: his wife Toni Browning of Johnston; his children, Kristi Nolker (Gary) of North Vernon and Kyle Browning (Angie) of Bargersville, Indiana; and his siblings-in-law, Scott Guetzko, Mark Guetzko (Lisa) and Laura Jackson (Neal). He is also survived by three grandchildren; two great-grandchildren.
Because of Gene's love for dogs, his family invites you to join in honoring his memory through a memorial fund established at Retrieving Freedom (a non-profit organization that trains and places service dogs with veterans with disabilities and children with autism to enhance independence and quality of life).
