He was predeceased by: his parents, Raymond Chalupa and Velda R. Chalupa (Duwa); his siblings, Beverly Mast and Dwane Chalupa; and his children-in-law, Joyce Chalupa and Bryan "Turbo" Lasek.
He is survived by: his wife Joanne Stumpf of Kalona; his children, Alan Chalupa of Wellman, Colleen Lasek of Ainsworth, Bret Chalupa (Lori) of Kalona, David Chalupa of Williamsburg, Lisa Chalupa of Kalona and Don Chalupa (Vicki) of Riverside; his grandchildren, Amanda Schafer (Joe), Austin Chalupa (Katie), Jesse Lasek (Betsy), Blake Lasek (Molly Edgar), Jamie Chalupa (Katie), Christopher Carriere (Megan), Sarah Chalupa, Zach Chalupa (Cassidy) and Kayti Chalupa (Blake Murphy); and his sister Carolyn "Corky" Cooper of Kalona. He is also survived by 13 great-grandchildren, several cousins, and nieces and nephews.
A memorial fund has been established for Hospice of Washington County.
