With profound sadness, we say goodbye to Dorothy Bender of Kalona, Iowa, whose vibrant spirit touched the lives of many. She was predeceased by: her parents, Aaron Raymond and Emma Elsie Bachman (Egli); her husband Daniel Bender; her grandchildren, Angela and Andrew; and her great grandchildren, Eliza, Benji and Conrad.
She is survived by: her children, Daniel Bender (Evie) of Kalona, IA, Jane Miller (Tim) of Sugarcreek, OH, Lois Gingerich (Jim) of Kalona, IA, Mairi Helmuth (Loren) of LaGrange, IN, Carol Bates (John) of Kalona, IA and Linda Yutzy (John) of Iowa City, IA; and her sisters-in-law, Erna Bachman of Goshen, IN and Marianna Miller of Kalona. She is also survived by 22 grandchildren; 34 great-grandchildren.
In lieu of flowers memorial donations may be given to Iowa City Hospice or the Pleasantview Home.
