Franklin D. Yoder Obituary
With heavy hearts, we announce the death of Franklin D. Yoder of Kalona, Iowa, who passed away on November 30, 2025 at the age of 92. Family and friends are welcome to leave their condolences on this memorial page and share them with the family.
He was predeceased by: his parents, Jonas R. Yoder and Lena R. Yoder (Yoder); his brothers, David L. Yoder (Verna), Paul E Yoder (Katie) and Edwin L Yoder (Esther); and his half-siblings, Chris Yoder, Mabel Miller and Frieda Whetstone.
He is survived by: his wife Ada A. Miller of Kalona; his children, Warren (Rhoda) of Jackson, MS., Darrell (Sylvia) of Lancaster, PA., Marlin (Joni) of Winston Salem, N. C., Gary (Donna) of Kalona, IA. and Larion (Lynnette) of Tiffin, IA.; and his grandchildren, Andrew Yoder (Omi), Marcus Yoder (Diana), Zachary Yoder (Priscilla Rocha), Jesse Yoder (Liz), Joshua Yoder, Rebecca Smucker (Levi), Christopher Yoder (Sarah Ashland), Matthew Yoder (Maya), Megan Yoder, Mitchell Yoder (Shaleia Murray) and Bowen Yoder (Katelin). He is also survived by 11 great grandchildren and many nieces and nephews.
Visitation was held on Friday, December 5th 2025 from 4:00 PM to 7:00 PM at the Yoder-Powell Funeral Home (504 12th St, Kalona, IA 52247). A burial was held on Saturday, December 6th 2025 at 9:00 AM at the Fairview Cemetery (2605 540th St SW, Kalona, IA 52247). A funeral service was held on Saturday, December 6th 2025 at 10:30 AM at the Sunnyside Mennonite Church (501 14th St, Kalona, IA 52247).
