She was predeceased by: her parents, Palmer G. Holden and Margaret Ann Holden (Mumm); her husband Short; her siblings, Arlyn Holden, Jerylea Kellerhals and Beverly Skinner; her nephews, Barton Holden and Chad Lekwa; and her niece Rene'Lekwa.

She is survived by: her stepdaughter Connie Andersen (Bob) of Kalona; her children, Locke Peterseim of Chicago and Meg Nagel (Gregg) of Wellman; her grandchildren, Erin Froeschner (Bob) of Iowa City, Jenna Andersen Hayes of Oklahoma City, OK, Sara Mulhauser (Rob) of Cincinnati, OH, Sydney Scarff of Portland, OR, Warren Scarff of Cedar Rapids and Charlotte Nagel of Wellman; her siblings, Marcy Keppy (David) of Sun City, AZ, Linda Miller (Craig Davison) of Tipton, IA, Myron Holden (Jan) of Tipton and Stan Holden of Fairview, TX; and her siblings-in-law, Elaine Holden and Lee Kellerhals. She is also survived by nieces and nephews.

In lieu of flowers memorial funds may be given to the Kalona United Methodist Church, The Kalona Golf Course, the Kalona Historical Society, or Paws and More.
