Julia will be remembered for the impact she had on the lives of those around her. Friends, family, and colleagues will cherish their memories and the time shared. Those who knew Julia will remember moments of kindness, warmth, and presence. Though words cannot fully capture her life, the legacy of connections and experiences remains. Julia’s absence will be deeply felt by those who valued her companionship.
She was predeceased by: her parents, Earl Hobbs and Nora Hobbs (Blick); her sister Debra Zahradnek; and her nephews, Bill Hobbs and Clint Zahradnek.
She is survived by: her sons, Matthew Shull (Shannon) of Mount Pleasant, Mark Shull (Laci) of Mount Pleasant and Micah Shull (Melissa) of Mount Pleasant; and her brothers, Tom Hobbs (Karen) and Dean Hobbs of West Chester. She is also survived by ten grandchildren; eight great grandchildren.
A celebration of life will be held on Friday, October 16th 2026 at 11:00 AM at the Kalona United Methodist Church (302 4th St, Kalona, IA 52247).
In lieu of flowers memorial donations can be given to the Kalona United Methodist Church for the youth group and Sunday school supplies and the West Chester Heritage Association.
