He was predeceased by: his parents, Ralph H. Cooper, and Helen Cooper, Sr. (Engle); his siblings, Bonnie Goble, Susie Cooper and Jack Cooper; and his siblings' children, Lee Lillie and Jan Lillie.
He is survived by: his wife Corky of Kalona; his sons, Chad Cooper of Kalona and Jody Cooper (Alissa) of Wellman; his grandchildren, Skyler Barthelman (Colton), Chase Cooper (Maddie), Taylor Frank (Zach), Collin Cooper (Catrina), Rylee Cooper (Mitch Blackburn), Macy Cooper (Tobin Miller), Parker and Hudson Ehrenfelt; and his brother Richard Cooper (Sandy) of Burlington. He is also survived by 12 great-grandchildren.
A memorial fund has been established for the Stead Family Children's Hospital at the University of Iowa.
