He was predeceased by: his parents, Clair Boshart and Lydia Boshart (Wyse); his siblings, Roy Boshart and Betty Roth; and his siblings-in-law, Owen Roth and Janice Ray.
He is survived by: his wife P. Elaine Decker of Kalona; his children, Rick Boshart (Doris) of Hazelton, Pennsylvania, Teresa Boshart Yoder (Lonnie) of Harrisonburg, Lisa Boshart (Woo Man Sim) of Kalona and Angela Bernstein (Davin) of Little Elm, Texas; and his grandchildren, Sheridan Penney (Chris), Trent Boshart, Tanner Boshart, Kelton Boshart, Kiana Boshart, Shannon Roth (Brandon), Nicole Yoder, Gideon Sim, Chaz Bernstein (Erika), Gemma Bernstein and Zelie Bernstein. He is also survived by 5 great grandchildren.
Visitation was held on Friday, September 18th 2026 from 5:00 PM to 7:00 PM at the Yoder-Powell Funeral Home (504 12th St, Kalona, IA 52247). A funeral service was held on Saturday, September 19th 2026 at 10:30 AM at the Lower Deer Creek Mennonite Church (1408 540th St SW, Kalona, IA 52247). A burial was held on Saturday, September 19th 2026 at 1:30 PM at the Sugar Creek Cemetery (1425 120th St, Wayland, IA 52654).
A memorial fund has been established for Lower Deer Creek Mennonite Church or Halcyon House.
