He is survived by: his wife Cynthia Jacobson (Owens) of Kalona; his children, Stephen Michel of Kalona, Richard Michel (Maureen) of Warrenton, Lisa Michel (Rocky Poindexter) of Lancaster, Seth Michel (Sheila Ritchie) of Kalona and John Michel (Kelly) of Wellman; his stepchildren, RYchard Jacobson (Margaret) of Santa Rosa, Michael Jacobson (Kathy) of Hazelton and Marnett Meier-Osweiler (Doug) of South English; Gerald Michel (Joan) of Hills, Iowa.. He is also survived by grandchildren, great-grandchildren, great-great grandchildren.
A memorial fund has been established for Camp Courageous and Hospice Compassus.
